AIGA Design for Democracy Get Out the Vote 2026

Chapter Toolkit + Resources + Volunteer Matching

I've chaired AIGA Design for Democracy's Get Out the Vote campaign across six election cycles. In 2026, no committee was seated, and no staff resources were available to support until late summer. I built the campaign's operating infrastructure myself, starting from what we built in the past, resources I was able to collect from alumni leaders, and ongoing research into effective civic engagement efforts.

Resource highlights include: an open-source public toolkit site for AIGA's 43 chapters, an separate nonpartisan poster copy site with 38 ready-to-design content sets, every call to action pointing to VOTE411, a Chapter Voter Information Finder with state-by-state facts and social template, and an internal communications platform to help elevate and amplify chapter events.

The deepest work this year is the League of Women Voters partnership. I built a ten-service design menu tiered by commitment level and an async intake process, then scoped fifteen League requests. On the surface they all looked different. Underneath, most described the same few needs — so instead of one-to-one matches, I’m working to organize volunteer designers as a distributed team on shared project bundles that might serve multiple leagues. The goal is to extend the partnership into 2028.
